Waihinahina is an exclusive small coastal subdivision on the tableland above the golden sandy beach at Browns Bay Te Mahia. A short 5 minute drive to the east lies a natural boat harbour and ramp for those interested in offshore fishing and diving.

Waihinahina is situated a mere 2 minute drive to the local shop at Te Mahia for your daily stores, and only 5 - 10 minutes away is the small township of Mahia where you will find more beaches, a camping ground, a local bar / restaurant, further shops, another boat ramp and fishing club, a dive shop and fishing charters, and a 9 hole country style golf course. Fuel and a mechanic shop is located at Opoutama a further 5 min drive from the Mahia township.
